NAOMI'S CAKE BREAK

Picture
Naomi Dickson hosted a Cake break in her home in Kilmarnock. Everyone who attended had a connection with someone who has passed on as a result of MS or who is battling MS at the minute, so everyone enjoyed contributing to such a worthwhile
charity.
Naomi held a raffle, sale of tablet and baked lots of yummy goodies so that the
amazing amount of £212 was made.

£3,500 FROM THE ROCK & ROLL RUNNERS

Picture
The Edinburgh Rock n Roll Half Marathon provided a further opportunity for the friends and family of the late Robbie Dickie to boost his memorial fund. Robbie died in a tragic road accident, age 17, last September. His family who have close connections with the Multiple Sclerosis Society wished a suitable and lasting tribute to the popular young teenager.  They established a Memorial Fund and set about energetically to raise funds.
All monies are dedicated to supporting young people with MS and young carers. In this, their latest effort, a total of 13 teenagers, headed up by Alison Peacock and Stuart Doolan - former Belmont Academy schoolmates in Ayr - raised the great total of over £3,500. Donald McNeill of the local Branch of the Society said: “Once again we are delighted how many young people and the Ayrshire community in general have rallied round this very worthwhile cause. It is really tremendous and we thank them and indeed all supporters for their generosity. We have already been able to make some grants which we know are making a real difference to peoples’ lives and we wish to encourage further applications and invite inquiries to our Ayrshire Resource Centre - call 01294 558866."

There is still an opportunity to add to the Fund via the website – www.justgiving.com/Run-for-Robbie
